Artist’s Statement

I describe myself as a “Creative, Mixed Media Artist” working in an Abstract, Expressionistic style.
The mediums I use are acrylics, inks, water colours, Asian papers and many types of texture mediums on paper or canvas. Design, Colour & Texture are the elements that I love to use. I have several specialized, exclusive techniques in my 'tool box' which create very interesting effects.
I like to express life and life’s experience in my works; trying to capture the essence & emotion of a subject,
rather than the subject itself.
Although I started art 30 years ago, working in a realistic style, drawing and painting animals and people, I have been painting, learning and ‘more learning’, full time for the past 10 years!


I was fortunate to have been published several times in two national art magazines, The Artist’s Palette and Australian Artist, writing tutorials for both of these in 2008-09.
I have exhibited in over 40 exhibitions, the most recent being in Paris, Italy, Dubai, USA and Australia.
October, 2011 saw my work exhibited at the Salon d'Automne held on the Champs-Elysees in Paris.
